Meike is an engagement process specialist who works at the intersection between science, policy and practice. She has been passionate about enhancing the relationship between people and their environment since a young age. Her work has focused in Sub-Saharan Africa over the past ten years but she also has experience in Asia and Australia.

First Nations Leading, Professor Stephen van Leeuwen and Carol Innes

Stephen is a respected South West Boojarah Wardandi Noongar leader with a profound respect for Country who engages and builds collaborative relationships with Traditional Owners and other land managers to co-deliver novel and enduring outcomes for biodiversity conservation, bio-cultural land management, and the stewardship of Country. He is Australia’s first Indigenous Chair of Biodiversity and Environmental Science, based at Curtin University.

Carol is a Noongar Elder and cultural advocate with a strong commitment to work with our community across all sectors. Carol is currently a Co-Director in the Danjoo Koorliny Project – 2029 and Beyond, a long-term, Aboriginal-led systems change process based in the Centre for Social Impact at the University of Western Australia (UWA). Carol is the current Aboriginal Co-Chair of Reconciliation WA.

Wholistic Health, Adam Cross, Global Ecohealth Network and Curtin University

Adam is Science Director for the EcoHealth Network, until recently was the Restoration Manager for Indigenous Trust Gelganyem Limited, and recipient of the Research Fellowship in Ecological Restoration at Curtin University. Adam is an ecologist with a strong research background and a passion for the natural world, and has authored over 60 scientific papers, books and book chapters. Adam was awarded Woodside Early Career Scientist of the Year at the 2019 Western Australian Premier’s Science Awards, and was also a 2020 Young Tall Poppy Science Award and 2020 Curtin Award for STEM Research Excellence winner.

One View From One Farm, Christie Kingston, AgZero 2030 and Farmers for Climate Action

Christie joins us from her cropping and merino wool farm in Goomalling, in Ballardong Noongar country.  As well as a farmer, Christie is a Farmers for Climate Action director, an AgZero 2030 committee member, a Climate Reality Leader, who cares deeply about being a generous ancestor and laying good foundations for the future!
