A collective voice for community landcare in WA
Join Tangaroa Blue and thousands of community groups across the state to remove marine debris from our beaches and coastal environment on 13 and 14 October.
It’s that time of year again, when Tangaroa Blue start promotion for this year’s WA Beach Clean-Up being held on the 13th and 14th October. There has been a name change and the event will now be known as the 2018 MARINE DEBRIS PROJECT. This new name reflects the important role of data collection in the clean-up process. The clean-up data you collect will help us track litter to its source and prevent it from entering the waste stream and harming our environment and marine life.
Maureen Maher who has joined the Tangaroa Blue team and will be taking over the event coordinator role for the 2018 WA Marine Debris Project. Maureen’s career experience has spanned the health, community and environment sectors; designing, coordinating, collaborating, educating and communicating around ways to create a healthier environment, happier communities and creating positive change. Having worked alongside Tangaroa Blue for many years she is excited to be helping to encourage more Western Australians to love their beaches, reduce litter and find solutions for a cleaner, plastic-free environment. Maureen will be in touch shortly with further details on how to register for this year’s event. You can contact her on maureen@tangaroablue.org
