A collective voice for community landcare in WA
Registrations are open for the 2019 Great Cocky Count on Sunday 7 April. Spread the word about this year’s Great Cocky Count to as many volunteers as possible and help BirdLife Western Australia better understand how cockatoos use our landscape.
Being part of the Great Cocky Count is fun and volunteers will contribute to a long-term citizen science survey, the biggest single survey for black-cockatoos in Western Australia.
You can help before the count by identify potenial roost sites. These are sites where any of the three species of SW Black Cockatoos (Carnabys, Baudins or Forest Red Tailed Cockatoos) spend the night.
Or you can help to monitor a roost site on the evening of the Great Cocky Count – Sunday 7 April 2019.
