The second of WALN’s ‘Rise Up, Roots Down’ projects is now complete spreading the word about indigenous culture in the SW. Thanks to Mandy Carey from Busselton Senior High School, Josh Whiteland from Koomal Dreaming and Intrepid Landcare for making this happen. Great work connecting young people to landcare and to indigenous culture. Well done everyone!
The ‘Rise Up, Roots Down’ Campaign aims to connect and support young people who are passionate about the environment. By backing three inspirational young West Australians to bring their landcare ideas to reality, ‘Rise Up Roots Down’ hopes to inspire the next generation to get involved in landcare. Funded by WALN in partnership with Intrepid Landcare, ‘Rise Up Roots Down’ has provided three young people with $1000 each to cover the cost of a landcare-inspired event. Additional support has also included mentoring about branding, storytelling for change, and co-design of projects to ensure events are successful and really make a difference.
