WALN offers help with Green Jobs Plan

In late July the State Government announced its WA Recovery Plan and soon after its proposed Green Jobs Plan to support WA’s economic recovery from COVID-19.   https://www.mediastatements.wa.gov.au/Pages/McGowan/2020/07/McGowan-Government-unveils-Green-Jobs-Plan-to-support-recovery.aspx

WALN on behalf of the WA landcare community has written to the Premier advising that it was particularly pleased to see green jobs and environmental protection as one of the State government’s recovery priorities.  WALN advised that it was ready to work with government as part of the implementation team and keen to involve the existing network of over 700 community based land and coastcare groups spread across WA.

There is not a lot of information about how the Green Jobs Plan will be implemented available yet. WALN will continue to advocate for community landcare to play a role and benefit from this significant recovery funding.

Details below from the WA Government social media post for those who missed it.
